3 Ways to Avoid Making a Big Mistake I Did in 2020

Have you set 2021 goals or resolutions? Keep reading to avoid making the same mistake I did in 2020!

When I have a goal, I like to go all out to make it happen as quickly as possible. Flashback to July, when Corey and I first got engaged. We decided to have a 5-month engagement, so we got straight to wedding planning. I get tunnel vision sometimes 😅

In the first 10 days of our engagement, I crossed more than 11 things off my Wedding Planning to-do list.

👉🏼 While all of that might seem like a huge accomplishment, I started praying and planning for our wedding before I started praying and preparing for our marriage!!!! ⁣

🤯 How crazy is that?! I mean I’ve been praying for my marriage and my future husband ever since I was a little girl. But once engaged, my first instinct was to pray for our wedding!⁣

⚡️This was a sore reminder that it’s so easy to go through life with our priorities out of order without realizing it... until God gets our attention.⁣

When it comes to owning our own business and even creating content for social platforms, it’s easy to pray for the results, focus on the process, the income, the stats…instead of praying for the hearts of those who encounter our business. While there’s nothing wrong with praying for those, that shouldn’t be our priority. If you listened to my recent interview on Truth Talks with Tara you know that as Christian businesswomen, the people we serve are far more important than our services or products.

🙌🏽 Priorities matter to God. Preparing our hearts is greater than planning events or measuring results, income, & stats.

I hope you can learn and grow from my mistakes! I plan to 🥰⁣

  1. This is tough and can be painful, but pause and ask God, “As I head into this new year, what is one area of my life where I need to shift my priorities?” Write down the first things that come to mind. 💕

  2. In case you missed it, listen to my interview on Truth Talks with Tara where we discuss what God says about women who desire to be entrepreneurs, small business owners, and leaders. If you’ve ever wondered how a Proverbs 31 woman could start her own business, you will love this!
